A BOOKMAKERS will be changed into a health and wellbeing hub if a planning application is given the go-ahead.
Philip Brooke wants to convert Brooklyn Leisure on Manchester Road, Mossley into a facility where the community and business groups can hold sessions where people can get help and support to become healthier.

It will be primarily used as an administration centre but would include space to carry out physical activity and learning.
Activities on site will include administration, consultations, meetings, exercise sessions and community education and learning events.
In a supporting statement, Mr Brooke, who would be the sole employee, wrote: “This will be on an individual and small group basis.
“It is planned to offer a ‘pre-gym support package’ to individuals/small groups (max six) who are looking to develop a healthier lifestyle.
“This will provide the support needed to gain the confidence to participate in appropriate physical activity whether at home, outside, or in a mainstream gym.”
It is hoped the facility will be open from 6am until 10pm but Mr Brooke admits it will be dependent on the needs of the customers who will generally need to pre-book a visit.
Tameside Council’s speakers’ panel (planning) committee will decide whether to approve or refuse the application.
