Finlay helps to spread goodwill

A CARING schoolboy has been helping those in need.

Finlay Smith, 11, collected 40 coats and thick cardigans from the Cypress Oakes Estate in Stalybridge. They were given to education provider Works4U which was a local collecting point for the garments which will be distributed to Manchester’s homeless.

Finlay, a student at Mossley Hollins High School, has been using his pocket money to buy toys which have been given to Barty’s Foodbank in Stalybridge.

Residents of Cypress Oakes have been active raising funds for Mossley Foodbank and Manchester Dogs Home. That prompted Finlay to say he want to do something, and he began researching local charities.

Finlay’s efforts will also go towards his pillars badge at Mossley Hollins which is awarded for working in the community.
