POLICE are currently dealing with a suspected historic unexploded device in Hyde.
GMP were called at approximately 12.35pm on Friday, January 8 to a site on Brook Street close to the town centre.
Officers are in attendance with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit (EOD) conducting further assessments of the scene.

Mottram Road is cordoned off in both directions while the historic object is being examined.
Public transport is being diverted.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
