FIVE houses may be built on an area of land in Stalybridge if a planning application is given the go ahead.
Joe Campbell wishes to put the properties next to 7 Wakefield Road but it would be accessed from Kinder Street.
And a report to Tameside Council says the application is supported by those who would neighbour them.
It says: “The applicant has discussed the proposed planning application with the immediate neighbour of the site.
“Mr Campbell advises that the owner of 7 Wakefield Road is in support of his proposals to develop the site.
“The applicant wishes to develop the site with a terrace of five houses. The site previously had the benefit of planning permission for four three level split level houses, granted in 2006 reference and for five houses, which was granted in 2008.
“Since the 2008 permission, the site has become overgrown with self seeded bushes and trees.
“The applicant has recently been clearing the vegetation at the site and is in the process of disposing of vegetation.”
The area, which measures just under one hectare, falls within Stalybridge town centre although it is on what is described as ‘a fairly steep slope, sloping down from Kinder Street to Wakefield Road.’
But in the report, it says it would not be out of character with the current area.
Tameside Council’s Speakers Panel (Planning) committee will decide whether to grant or refuse planning permission.
Hello, I am currently the owner of 7 Wakefield Road, and have had no contact regarding the above. We are definitely open to communication. If anyone can pass on our contact details or send theirs to us.
