BGT winner Jon Courtenay performs live in Carrbrook

BRITAIN’S Got Talent winner Jon Courtenay played his first live audience since lockdown in Carrbook.

It was a far cry from performing on stage at The London Palladium in the BGT heats as the 47-year-old entertainer appeared at Buckton Vale Primary where his son Alfie is a pupil.

Mossley-based Jon played his BGT songs, performed a magic trick and took part in a Q&A session when he was quizzed about taking part in the show.

Because of the Covid-19 social distancing restrictions, it was only possible to have Alfie’s year five class in the hall.

However, the show was filmed and later shown to other classes.

  • Alfie gets his first taste of showbusiness as he will be joining his father on stage for the BGT Christmas special which is being screened on ITV on December 25.

Jon, who will be singing a special festive song, is one of 10 BGT winners who will be appearing in the festive line-up.
