EMMAUS Mossley has been selected to benefit from the latest round of the Co-op Local Community Fund.

The homelessness charity supports 26 formerly homeless people- known as companions-by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.
Money raised via the Fund will be used to develop the community garden at Emmaus as a place for relaxation, socialising and food growing.

Companion Gary, who maintains the garden, said: “I like working outside in the fresh air, using my imagination to develop the garden.
“I’m doing it as much for my fellow companions, improving the space and growing vegetables to use in our community kitchen.
“The Co-op funding will help us achieve much more within the garden.”
The charity’s income has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic so the news of Co-op’s support has been gratefully received.
To help raise vital funds through the scheme, Emmaus Mossley will be relying on Co-op members and shoppers.
Every time a member buys the store’s selected own-branded products or services, they get two percent back for themselves, and a further two percent goes to their chosen local cause.

Alison Hill, Director of Emmaus Mossley, said: “Towards the end of a very challenging year, we are delighted to be selected for Fund.
“This additional funding boost will help us continue the support we offer to people who have experienced homelessness.
“I encourage all Co-op shoppers to sign up as a member and select Emmaus Mossley as your chosen charity.”
