Police launch investigation after injured man found in Mossley

A POLICE investigation is underway after a man in his 20s was taken to hospital  with “serious injuries” following an incident in Mossley over the weekend.

Emergency services attended the scene on Sunday, November 15 after reports of an injured male on Broadcarr Lane.

The road leads from the A 670 Mossley Road up towards Hartshead Pike-a popular spot for walkers and hikers.

A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 1.55pm on Sunday, 15 November 2020, police were called by the ambulance services responding to reports of an injured male on Broadcarr Lane, Mossley.

“Officers attended. An investigation is underway.

“Anyone with information should contact police quoting 1489 of 15/11/20 or the independent charity – Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. “

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed they attended the scene and said: “A male in his 20’s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is now a police matter.”
