TWO STUDENTS are celebrating after achieving top marks in their recent A-Level exams.
After controversy and furore over the marking of tests, with an algorithm replaced by teacher predicted grades, the achievements are being recognised.

And after coming through with flying colours, Gabriel Connaghan is ready to take up a place at Oxford University, just like his sister Niamh!
He got A* grades in chemistry, maths, further maths and physics and will now study physics at the historic establishment.
Gabriel was not the only student of Ashton Sixth Form to come out with high grades.
Georgia Harris scored straight A*s in psychology, Spanish and maths and is now going on to study linguistics at Manchester University.

And the gap may have been long but her achievements are no surprise to Vicky Cameron, headteacher of Hyde’s Bradley Green Primary Academy.
“Proud ex-year six teacher here,” she messaged after learning of how well she did after guiding her when she was much younger.
