ANDREW Gwynne, MP for Denton and Reddish, has presented one of his Citizen’s Award to Louise Park, a personal trainer in Dukinfield, who has been putting on free Zoom classes during lockdown.
Louise has had many mental health struggles throughout her life, and it was not until she was aged 39 that she received the correct diagnosis for her condition.

Louise’s issues have not stopped her from supporting others, including domestic violence victims, mental health sufferers and families who have children with additional needs.
During lockdown she set up an online support network called ‘Strength and Soul’, providing people with the motivation to keep a positive, healthy mind.
Louise puts on free, 30-minute Zoom exercise classes for friends and families in the local community three times a week, sharing inspirational messages and low-fat recipes with her support network on WhatsApp. She has been a lifeline for so many who are struggling.
Mr Gwynne presented the award outside Dukinfield Town Hall and was joined by Dukinfield councillors John Taylor, Jackie Lane and Brian Wild, along with local campaigner Naila Sharif.
He said: “It was a real pleasure to present this award to Louise in recognition the contribution that she has made in her local community during the lockdown.
“Keeping fit and healthy, both mentally and physically, has been a real challenge during the lockdown, so I’d like to thank Louise for doing so much to help others in this regard.”
