A CENTRE that enables children from the area to get out on the water has reopened its doors after spending lockdown being refurbished.
Debdale Outdoor Activity Centre, which is situated at Debdale Park, just over the border from Denton, is now operating junior sessions.
Several children from the Tameside area take part in the Saturday morning groups, which restarted on Saturday, August 22.

And there are a number of differences, in the way kids can get involved, the times and the look of the place.
Sailing, windsurfing and kayaking are on offer at the slightly altered times of 10am-1pm but DOAC has moved to a pre-booking system in light of Covid-19.
However, it is hoped it will return to normal operating times and increase capacity to allow for more participants.
The centre was recently refurbished, including new toilets, flooring, lighting and a fresh coat of paint.
While time off the water was frustrating, it has not all been bad news for DOAC.
For their Vice Commodore Joseph Ridge has won the Royal Yachting Association’s Youth Volunteer Award, which is awarded to someone under the age of 25 on the October 1.
Winners must have demonstrated a regular commitment and/or inspirational contribution which is over and above their own participation or achievement within the sport.
