Staff at Tameside Hospital are working hard to make sure that infection prevention and control measures are strictly adhered to, in order to ensure that the hospital is safe for patients and staff.
Whilst restrictions in other aspects of our lives are being relaxed, visiting at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT remains restricted while the Trust continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Restrictions allow for one birthing partner for women in labour, one nominated parent or carer accompanying children and arrangements will be discussed individually for patients who have learning disabilities, dementia or are at the end of their life. In all other areas no visiting is permitted. The arrangements are subject to regular review and will be changed when it is appropriate to do so
Chief Executive of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT, Karen James OBE said, “This continues to be a really challenging time for everyone but especially those with loved ones in hospitals or care units that they cannot visit.
“We do understand that this is a really difficult time but we do ask that loved ones don’t come to the hospital to see patients, even in communal areas, entrances or in cars.
“At the Trust we are committed to doing the best we can to care for our patients and restricting visiting is an important part of our safety measures.”
If your friend, relative or loved one is in the hospital there are a number of ways you can be helped to keep in touch with them. Please contact the Patient Experience Team on the phone on 0161 922 4466, on email on patient.experience@tgh.nhs.uk
