Hyde Werneth councillors and local estate agency On the Move property boutique have joined forces to launch a community competition ahead of VE Day.
Conservatives Phil Chadwick and Ruth Welsh along with Annabelle Jardine-Jones from the Gee Cross business will judge entries across the village to see who will be crowned ‘Best Dressed House’.
A community Facebook group has been set up and members can enter the competition by showing off their talents, simply by uploading photos of their decorated homes.
Cllrs Chadwick and Welsh told the Correspondent: “As the many planned events to celebrate VE day are unable to go ahead, we’re delighted to support this lovely idea to still recognise and remember this historic day as well as supporting local business and bringing the community together”
