The show WILL go on for Tameside Pride 2020

The organisers behind the Tameside Pride festival have announced the celebrations will not go ahead as originally planned this year because of the COVID pandemic and subsequent Government guidance regarding social distancing and large gatherings.
The 2019 event held at Cheetham Park, Stalybridge was a huge success with more than 2000 people attending.
Events were held throughout the year to raise the LGBT profile across the borough along with boosting fundraising for many local LGBT charities.
However, as many residents adapt to find new ways to keep themselves busy during lockdown, social media platforms have provided an array of activities for people to join in with.
On May 1, Tameside will host its first DIGITAL PRIDE, from 6:30pm until late, streaming across the Tameside Pride website and through Facebook.
– Text TAMESIDE 3 to 70085 to donate £3 – or change the 3 to a higher number to give more.
Donations will be split between the NHS at Tameside Hospital and local charities.
