Careers event helps pupils plan future paths

MOSSLEY and Carrbrook Schools Partnership held a careers event for year six and year eight pupils.

Primary School children from Livingstone, Micklehurst All Saints, Milton St Johns, St Joseph’s, St George’s and Buckton Vale attended the event at Mossley Hollins High School on February 26 and 27 and worked closely with year eight students.

The children were enthused by listening to representatives from local companies regarding their job roles. These included professionals from a range of careers, such as banking, journalism, emergency services, young apprentices and a science specialist.

The representatives talked to the students about their careers and the opportunities they had as a result of them.

Ashton Sixth Form students attended to provide an insight into college life.

Students also participated in a workshop about developing a growth mindset, mentality and thinking positively about their futures which was delivered by the company Live ‘n’ Learn.

The event was successful and MCSP leaders thanked those who gave their time to deliver engaging presentations.
