Further deaths confirmed in Tameside after patients contract COVID-19

FOUR people from Tameside have now died as a result of contracting the COVID-19 virus.

Three men and a woman – all of whom had underlying health conditions – all passed away at Tameside Hospital.

The coronavirus outbreak has seen Prime Minister Boris Johnson place the country on a virtual lockdown, with all shops selling non-essential goods ordered to close.

Social distancing means people, who are allowed out once a day for exercise, must stay two metres away from each other.

And locally, the death toll from the condition has risen.

A statement from Tameside Hospital said: “Sadly, we can confirm that four patients who were being cared for at our hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

“Three men, two in their 80s and one in his 60s and one woman in her 60s, had underlying health conditions.

“All families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

  1. Boris have a good speach last night.Sounding caring and in control. Then why is the stupid did allowing flights in still from countries around the world to land. Including Italy China and Iran. In his own words it beggars belief. Why not say it’s an exercise to cull the sick and the elderly. Measures that are being taken should have been done weeks ago.

    1. As in why are they not showing the locations on the map area that tracks official recorded numbers
