Mossley Hollins High School to operate partial closure to students

MOSSLEY HOLLINS High School has announced partial closure to students commencing tomorrow (Wednesday March 18) because of staff shortages.

Headteacher, Stuart Marshall has stated students in years 8 and 9 will student from home until further notice.

The change comes after the government stepped-up isolation measures to stop the spread of coronavirus. as a result, a number of teaching staff are now in self-isolation at home.

Parents and carers were informed of the change earlier this afternoon via a statement released.

‘Due to the absence of a number of staff through self-isolation who are following the advice of the government, we are unable to provide sufficient teaching coverage for all our students. In light of this we have made the difficult decision for some students to continue their studies at home.

‘We regret this decision which we know will cause disruption to families, however we do not have the choice given the unprecedented situation we all face.’

There are no reported cases of coronavirus in the school and  students, staff and parents are advised to continue to take all precautions to limit the spread of the disease
