IF you enjoy the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, then there is no shortage of tribute shows around to take in.
Uppermill Civic Hall and the George Lawton Hall, Mossley have both successfully hosted Walk Like A Man – a celebration of popular musical Jersey Boys.
So, don’t put away those dancing shoes and sharp suits just yet as Valli’s music returns to Saddleworth later this year with another nostalgic nod to the New Jersey born singer who started life as Francesco Stephen Castelluccio.
Oh What a Night takes audiences back in time on a musical journey through the incredible career of Valli & The Four Seasons, forever immortalised in the multi-award-winning show Jersey Boys, which has been packing theatres worldwide since its debut in 2005.
The show, promoted by Saddleworth-based Handshake Ltd and produced and starring former Hulme Grammar School head boy, Ian Curran, come to Uppermill on Saturday, May 16.
Already touring OWAN has received some excellent early reviews.
“The atmosphere was fantastic, the fellas did a great gig and can recommend to all Four Seasons fans,” said one theatre goer who watched the show in Winchester.
Another posted on the OWAN Facebook page: “A fabulous atmosphere and everyone had a great night. worth going to see you won’t be disappointed.”
Valli’s unmistakable falsetto voice helped ensure a string of hits as he and the group dominated the airwaves for more than two decades.
Classic hits included: Sherry, Let’s Hang On, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, My Eyes Adored You, December 63 (Oh What A Night), Bye Bye Baby, Who Loves You and many more.
The show combines infectious personalities, amazing vocals, slick harmonies and even slicker dance moves to deliver a show full of energy and nostalgia which will leave you wanting more.
Doors and bar open at the Civic Hall from 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Unreserved cabaret style seating allocated on a first come, first served basis.
