PRAISED by Vogue as ‘one of the most exciting new British Gins’, Didsbury Gin is created for gin drinkers by two Manchester-born gin-drinkers Liam Manton and Mark Smallwood.
The duo took inspiration from Didsbury’s Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens and its bright flavours and local aromas, using botanicals including fresh grapefruit, lime and orange for a crisp, zesty palate.
Their original is a refreshing twist on a classic London Dry, boasting a well-balanced and vibrant flavour, making it both sippable and a versatile spirit for a range of gin cocktails.
For the raspberry and elderflower, fresh raspberries are macerated for six weeks into their original London Dry, and then distilled locally foraged english elderflower. Fresh juniper notes swirl on the palate for a second, leading to a bright fruity finish.
In January 2019, Liam and Mark were seen on BBC Two’s hit show Dragons’ Den, as they pitched in front of the show’s five resident multi-millionaires to convince them to invest their cash in the craft gin company.
They impressed Hyde-born businesswoman Jenny Campbell, who takes great pride in investing in businesses in her home area, and secured £75,000.
Already stocked in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, Didsbury Gin is set to be the gin of 2019.
