Two choir Christmas concerts on same day

STALYBRIDGE is gearing up for a double helping of festive harmony as two local choirs take to the stage on the same day for charity Christmas concerts.

The Willow Wood Hospice Choir and Tameside Community Voices will both be singing on Saturday, December 13.

The afternoon begins with the Willow Wood Hospice Choir, who will bring a programme of seasonal favourites and classic carols to Holy Trinity Church on Corporation Street at 2pm.

The performance will also feature a special appearance by the Arnfield Brass Band, adding an extra touch of Christmas magic.

All funds raised will support Willow Wood Hospice, based in Ashton-under-Lyne, which provides compassionate, specialist care to people across Tameside and Glossop living with life-limiting illnesses.

Tickets cost £5, with refreshments included, and are available from the hospice reception on Willow Wood Close or on the door.

As evening falls, the spotlight shifts just a short distance away to St George’s Church on Church Walk, where Tameside Community Voices will present their own Christmas celebration at 7pm.

Entry is also £5, payable on the door, with free admission for under-16s.

Free refreshments will be served, and proceeds will support the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
