Festive fun coming to Ashton community centre

IT will soon begin to look a lot like Christmas at a community centre in Ashton-under-Lyne, where the team is pulling out all the stops to make it a festive season to remember.

The 4C on Taunton Road will be brimming with festive spirit on Saturday, November 22, as it hosts its annual Christmas Fayre from 2pm to 6pm.

Entry is free, and visitors can look forward to an afternoon packed with stalls, food, pottery painting, and live entertainment.

Of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit from the big man himself.

Santa’s Grotto will be open throughout the day, priced at £5 per child and £3 for under-1s, with bookings available by emailing josie@4ccommunitycentre.org.uk

If you cannot make it on the Saturday, Santa will be back on Sunday, November 23, from 10am to midday and 1pm to 3pm.

Each visit includes one free digital image, sponsored by Em Maloney Photography.

To help spread the magic even further, the centre has launched a Christmas toy drive to ensure every child gets a gift.

Donations of new or gently-used toys – including board games, dolls, books, teddies, building blocks, art supplies, and toy vehicles – are all welcome.

The team is also accepting monetary donations via the toy fund box at the centre, as well as selection boxes.

Any leftover gifts will be distributed to local charities and organisations across Tameside that support children and families during the holidays.

If that’s not enough to keep the festive spirit glowing, the 4C centre will be rounding off the season with a Christmas Movie Night on Sunday, December 21.

Families can cosy up for a screening of the holiday favourite Elf, complete with tasty treats.

Doors open at 5pm with the film starting at 5.30pm. Tickets can be bought for £3 (which includes a selection box) or £5 (which includes a selection box, popcorn and a drink).
