It is with great sadness that local resident Maureen Bennett, of Stalybridge, passed away peacefully on Monday 17th March at Fir Trees Care Home, Dukinfield. She was 91 years.
Maureen was the youngest child of Miriam Vera and William Bennett. Her father William Bennett was the designer and 1st engineer of the New Mossley Gas Works and Maureen had lived in the area all her life.
In later years Maureen loved to attend the weekly sessions at ‘Time Of Your Life’, where she made many friends and greatly enjoyed going on their outings.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to her amazing friend and neighbour, Karen, for everything she did for Maureen, out of kindness and love.
Also thank you to Fir Trees Care Home for looking after Maureen.
Maureen leaves behind 5 nephews and nieces, Roger, David, Carolyn, Hilary and Pamela.
