LOCAL darts players have the chance to win the £1,000 first prize in a big tournament.
The Greater Manchester Grand Slam takes place at St Kentigern’s Social Club, Fallowfield, on Saturday, September 10, noon start.
There will be a maximum entry of 96 players who will be split into groups of six with the top two from each group progressing.
The format will be the best of three legs.

- St Kentigern’s is also hosting a ‘Summer Sizzler’, a charity event on Saturday, August 20, 8pm start.
It is a challenge match between a firefighters’ team and an allstars’ line-up and will feature three players who feature on the PDC Tour.
There will be other entertainment and the chance for spectators to play on stage.
Admission is £5 for £50 for a table and money raised will go to The Fire Fighters’ Charity and Alzheimer’s Society.
