Hyde United bring back former captain Roscoe

HYDE United have brought former captain Brad Roscoe back to the Project Solar Stadium on a deal running until the summer of 2028.

The central defender has returned to the Tigers from Radcliffe for an undisclosed fee, having previously spent five years with the club.

Roscoe first joined Hyde in 2019 and went on to make 160 appearances, scoring 16 goals, before leaving at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The defender subsequently joined National League North side Radcliffe, where he made more than 100 appearances and featured in every game last season.

Brad Roscoe
Brad Roscoe was Players’ Player of the Year at Hyde in the 2021/22 season.

His return comes as Hyde seek to build momentum in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after a slow start to the campaign.

Roscoe went straight into Michael Clegg’s starting XI on Tuesday night (September 22), wearing the captain’s armband as the Tigers travelled to Leek Town. However, his comeback ended in disappointment as Hyde suffered a 2-1 defeat.

The result leaves the Tigers 14th in the table after 10 games, with 11 points. They are level on points with local rivals Ashton United, who sit directly above them in the standings.

The 28-year-old’s return gives manager Clegg an experienced defender who already knows the club and its supporters as the Tigers look to kick on.
