PEOPLE from Denton are being invited to see Manchester from a different perspective this weekend as a local community group hosts a guided walking tour through the city centre.
Organised by Denton Town Twinning Association, the walk takes place on Sunday, July 12.
Participants will meet at 12.30pm outside the Chinese Arch in Chinatown.
Leading the tour will be Bob Ganley, the former headteacher of St John Fisher Primary School in Denton, who has since become a semi-professional tour guide.
The walk, which will last just over two hours, promises to take in some of Manchester’s best-known landmarks while revealing lesser-known stories about the city’s history, architecture and people.
Rather than charging a fixed fee, the tour is free to attend, with participants invited to make a voluntary cash donation at the end based on what they feel the experience was worth.
All money raised will go towards supporting the work of Denton Town Twinning Association, which organises community activities and promotes links with the town’s international partners.
