UTILITY works scheduled to take place along the A57 at Mottram Moor over the weekend of October 18 have been postponed.
Gas works have been taking place over the last three weekends as part of the A57 Mottram Moor Link Roads scheme, and were originally due for completion this weekend.
However, following significant traffic disruption last weekend – further compounded by a closure on the M62 – the decision has been made to postpone the final phase of works.

A spokesperson for National Highways said:
“We are aware of the significant traffic disruption caused last weekend due to the utility works linked to the A57 Link Roads scheme and the traffic diverted from the M62 closure, and we are sorry this affected journey times.
“In response to concerns, we have worked closely with our partners to postpone this weekend’s planned works. These will be rescheduled for a later date to help minimise disruption to local residents and road users.
“We remain committed to working with partners and the community to reduce the impact of our works wherever possible, and we thank everyone for their continued patience as our works progress.”
