A TAMESIDE sports therapies centre is offering people living with Parkinson’s looking to manage their symptoms promising results, thanks to the latest technology.
Pro Active, based in Broadbottom, can provide PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, which studies suggest can improve symptoms like tremor, movement speed and walking difficulty, as well as possibly benefit quality of life.
And the results are being personally seen by its team through the improvements in their client, Tony, in just three sessions.

He had been struggling with symptoms of Parkinson’s, including a lack of sensation on one side of his body.
But after beginning treatment, he regained sensation down his left-hand side – something he had not felt in 10 years.
“I’ve not felt this healthy in years,” Tony shared in a heartfelt message to Pro Active. “I honestly feel like I’ve turned a corner.
“After just three sessions, I can feel the difference in my body. I can’t express enough how much this has changed the way I feel. It’s given me hope again.”
Tony’s story highlights a growing body of evidence suggesting that PEMF therapy, available at Pro Active, could be a beneficial complementary treatment for managing Parkinson’s symptoms.
Lead practitioner at the Bostock Road centre, Vanessa Lloyd, is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge therapies like PEMF to people who need them most.
She said: “I’m thrilled with the improvements we’re seeing in clients like Tony.
“While we’re not promising long-term results, the positive impact on his symptoms immediately after each session has been astonishing.
“Another client of ours with Parkinson’s immediately stopped having tremors.
“We both cried when he got off the PEMF bed. I’m as delighted as the clients are when I see the difference it makes to them.”
Dr John Morgan, advocate of Pro Active, added, “It’s cutting-edge technology and therapies, like PEMF, which can make all the difference.
“Small improvements often can make the biggest transformation to a patient’s quality of life”.

PEMF therapy is providing hope to those struggling with the daily challenges of Parkinson’s, offering a safe, non-invasive option to help manage symptoms and improve overall function.
As more clients share their success stories, Pro Active Manchester is excited to continue helping the local Parkinson’s community.
