ROTARIANS know all about the spirit of giving and there is no better time than at the most wonderful time of the year.
Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary have shown their support by helping to spread some festive cheer to Tameside Young Carers.
They donated funds which were utilised to buy 250 chocolate selection boxes – which will be given out at the Young Carers’ Christmas party and in the run-up to Christmas for those who cannot attend.
Young Carers are people under the age of 18 who look after someone – usually a family member – who is unwell or disabled.
The Rotarians came to Hyde Youth and Community Centre on Bennett Street, where the Tameside Young Carers Project meet, to see some of the young carers and the activities they are able to enjoy.
The Friends of Tameside Young Carers thanked the Rotarians and Alison Cox, the community champion from Morrisons in Dukinfield, who helped to source the selection boxes.
Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary are volunteers who raise money to support local people and groups. Find out more on their website at http://www.dandsrotary.co.uk
