GEE Cross was left looking like Hawaii – although the weather was anything but – as its Scarecrow Festival proved a huge hit.
Guest judge, YouTuber Tom Cassell of The Syndicate Project, braved the rain to examine the creations that were dotted around the village.
Some went to Hogwarts, others played pool, Slash from Guns’n’Roses made an appearance while more than one took inspiration from the Despicable Me films.
But eventually, after much deliberating, a top three were found and a creation that saw Gee Cross taken to the Pacific sunshine came out on top.
Gru and his Minions came second while a scene straight out of Harry Potter came third.
Once again, the Scarecrow Festival on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15 – the third time one has been held in Gee Cross – proved popular, with dozens of entries.
All that made for an intense afternoon judging for local lad Tom, who eventually narrowed down his choices.
And as well as a very apt recognition for their skill, each of the winners will receive one of his The Syndicate Project swag bags.
