Woman suffers ‘life threatening’ injuries in Ashton incident

A WOMAN is in hospital in a ‘life threatening condition’ after an incident at an Ashton home.

Police and ambulance officers – along with crime scene investigators – have been at Currier Lane since the evening of Monday, March 13.

There, a 33-year-old was found with serious injuries and she was rushed to hospital as a manhunt was launched.

And the Greater Manchester force has revealed a man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

However, there is no concern to members of the wider community.

A spokesman told The Correspondent: “Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at Currier Lane, Ashton-under-Lyne, at about 4.50pm on March 13.

“A woman, 33, was found inside a property with serious injuries and is now in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

“A 39-year-old man was later located and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, with the investigation ongoing.

“There is a scene at the location but no wider threat to the community.”
