STALYBRIDGE will be dancing to its own beat after a music festival set up.
Several of the town’s venues will see acts perform between 2pm and 10pm on Saturday, September 3 at Bridge Fest.Among those performing at free concerts are The Siennas, The Humbuckers, Peveril Folk Band, Rory Tyler and Company of Strangers.
A total of nine different venues in Stalybridge – The Civic Hall, The Buffet Bar, Q, The Rifleman, The Old Fleece, The White House, Bohemian Lounge, Bridge Beers and Magpie’s Nest – will be hosting events at the festival, which has been arranged by Stalybridge Town Team.
And it is hoped to be the start of an annual fixture on the calendar as the area’s talent and venues are shown off.
Stalybridge Town Team has proved an invaluable part of the community, not just because of its monthly litter picks, which have attracted dozens of volunteers.
It has also made sure planters around Armentieres Square look as good as they can and it is involved in the renovation of benches in that area.
Hopes are high the festival will be well received and if it is, you can expect a repeat performance in 2023.
