Covid cases tumbling in Tameside

COVID-19 cases have dropped sharply in Tameside during the past week, according to the latest figures released by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

In the week ending April 3, the number of cases per 100,000 in Tameside fell from 109.1 to 75.9.

All 10 of the boroughs in Greater Manchester reported decreases with Tameside no longer the highest as that belongs to Bolton with 76.2.

The number of people admitted to hospitals in Greater Manchester with Covid for the week ending April 6 has dropped from 53 to 34.

There were 48 people in intensive care with Covid-19, down from 56.

And the overall number of people in Greater Manchester hospitals with coronavirus for the week ending April 7 was 219 compared with 285 the previous week.
