“There’s a book in THAT!” Masterclass at Tameside Local Studies & Archive Centre

IF you’ve ever received this response, when talking about your family history, or when you’ve been thinking about unusual nugget of local history  – then come and learn how to develop the facts of your ‘story’ into a work of fiction –  at our Masterclass!

Christina Longden, (Writer in Residence for Kirklees 2020-2021), recently used her research into the life of her great x 3 grandfather, Victorian mayor of Stalybridge, to create both a historical biography (‘His Own Man’)  as well as work of fiction (‘Imagining Robert’).

Christina will explain how she wrote and developed both books using the astonishing ‘hidden’ history of Robert ‘Reschid’ Stanley and how the Christian Israelites and ‘Mr Wroe’s Virgins’ turned out to be a prime factor of Robert’s story!

She will also advise participants on how to develop a fact-based story – based on their own unique history or idea!
