Councillor pulls on trainers for charity

A FUNDRAISING councillor is about to hit the streets to raise money for worthy causes.

Denton South’s Jack Naylor is to run the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday, October 13.

The 30-year-old will be raising funds for four Tameside based charities – St Mary’s Haughton Green Foodbank; Anthony Seddon Fund; Home-Start Oldham, Stockport and Tameside/Dad Matters and the Tameside Civic Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

Jack describes himself as an “occasional runner” though he completed his one and only half marathon, the Manchester one, in 2018 in a time of just over two-and-a-half hours and raised £538 for the Civic Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

“I started running with a group of friends with the aim of getting fit and raising money for a worthy cause,” explained Jack who works as a commercial manager at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel.
