A TOP amateur golfer is inviting others to join him at the tee to help raise funds for Willow Wood Hospice.Twice Lancashire amateur champion Martin Wild, who is a patron of the hospice, is hosting a golf tournament on Friday, September 13 as part of Willow Wood’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
The event, at Ashton Golf Club, costs £300 per four ball and includes refreshments on arrival and at halfway, a three-course dinner, prize presentation and more. There will be also competitions along the way and a luxury raffle in the evening.
Martin said: “As well as providing a great day of golf, the tournament will raise much needed funds.
“I was shocked when I realised that, although it costs £7,340 every single day to provide its specialised care, Willow Wood have to raise over 79 per cent of that from the community.
“Having experienced first-hand the support, compassion and wonderful care given to patients and their families, I pledged to do whatever I could to help.”
Event organiser Elaine McConnell said: “I can’t thank Martin enough for hosting this tournament on our behalf and we’re all really looking forward to the day.
“We are offering hole sponsorships with advertising opportunities at each tee and anyone who would like to take this opportunity to advertise their goods or services should email elaine.mcconnell@willowwood.info or ring me on 0161 330 7788.”
