Ben Ashmore, 17, a photography student at Ashton Sixth Form College, captures the flavour of the weekend at Denton Beach Party
IT was a bank holiday weekend when the seaside came to town for the annual Denton Beach Party.
The Civic Square was transformed with all the attractions that can be found on a day out at the seaside.
There was a beach with beach bar, donkey rides, funfair, ice cream, barbecue and craft stalls.
An estimated 1,800 visitors attended the event which was put on by Denton Events in association with Walter Wright with Cllrs Denise Ward and Vincent Ricci and Steven Hayes the main organisers.
Cllr Denise Ward, one of the organisers, said: “The beach party was a huge success, Saturday being the busier day with Denton’s Got Talent with the winner 12-year-old singer Alice Fitzgerald.
“The donkeys arrived on Sunday which wasn’t as busy as Saturday due to the rain, but we had around 500-600 people visiting us.
“It was a community event and that’s what we work towards.”
