Communities celebrate VE Day with a ‘Best Dressed House’ competition by a local estate agent

Annabelle Jardine-Jones, owner of On The Move Property Boutique estate agency in Gee Cross, supported by Hyde Werneth Conservative Councillors, launched a community competition ahead of the nationwide VE Day ‘Stay At Home Street Party’ celebrations last weekend.  With the aim to unite the local communities where the estate agent operates, and to help lift peoples spirits during lockdown, residents of Gee Cross, Romiley, Woodley & Bredbury were encouraged to join a Facebook group where members could enter the competition simply by uploading photos of their decorated homes.

The original plan was for Annabelle to judge the entries ‘virtually’ and to pick a winner from each of the four communities involved, however the response was overwhelming and hundreds of people entered so a shortlist was created and put to a public vote.

WINNERS

Gee Cross joint winners with over 500 votes between them it was neck and neck all the way

Brabyns Road entered by Ashley Blackshaw & Kim Hibbert

Napier Street entered by Jessika Chandler

Well done to everybody that entered!
